Your Role
You own all finance operations for Symrise Italy, across accounting, tax, treasury, and reporting, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
You report to the Regional EAME Controller, work closely with the local Managing Director, lead one direct report, and serve as the key contact for auditors, banks, and authorities.
Accounting, Tax \& Compliance
- Ensure accurate and compliant bookkeeping according to local GAAP, IFRS, and corporate policies
- Oversee all tax matters including VAT, corporate tax, withholding tax, and transfer pricing
- Ensure compliance with local regulations and group requirements, including ESG, DAC6, IFRIC 23, and Pillar 2
- Reporting \& Planning
- Deliver timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting (Group and statutory)
- Prepare budgets and forecasts in line with group guidelines
- Support decision\-making with clear financial insights and analysis
- Manage cash flow, payment processes, and liquidity planning
- Oversee banking relationships and ensure efficient treasury operations
- Governance \& Controls
- Implement and maintain a strong internal control framework aligned with group standards
- Prepare documentation for board and shareholder meetings
- Ensure financial risk management, insurance coverage, and compliance processes
- Act as the key contact for auditors, banks, and local authorities
- Work closely with internal stakeholders across finance and business teams
- Fluent in English and Italian, able to work with local and global stakeholders
- 8–10 years of experience in finance, ideally in an international environment
- Strong accounting and tax expertise, including IFRS
- Hands\-on, structured, and comfortable owning a stand\-alone role
- Strong analytical mindset with a practical, business\-oriented approach
- Experience with accounting and reporting tools (e.g. Mago, HFM), plus advanced Excel skills
- Confident handling data and financial reporting processes
