Senior Finance Manager \- Full Time / Flexible Hours / Hybrid
We are looking for an experienced, commercially minded and people\-focused Senior Finance Manager to join our growing organisation.
This is a key finance leadership role supporting a group of growing businesses across several sectors, including early years childcare, private healthcare, education and training, and future business acquisitions. The role will suit someone who is confident working across multiple companies, entities, income streams and operational teams, and who enjoys bringing structure, accuracy and insight to a busy, evolving business environment.
This is a full\-time role, although we are open to discussing flexible working patterns. The role could be worked over four or five days per week, with flexibility around hours for the right person. This is also a hybrid role, with a mix of office\-based and remote working.

Working closely with the business owner, senior leadership team and operational managers, you will oversee the smooth and effective running of the finance function across multiple businesses. You will also support and develop a small finance team, helping to create a positive, organised and high\-performing finance function that can support continued growth.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Management \& Reporting
· Prepare, review and present monthly management accounts and financial reports across multiple businesses/entities
· Produce quarterly and annual financial reporting information
· Support budgeting, forecasting and cashflow management
· Produce and analyse weekly KPI reports to support operational and financial performance
· Provide meaningful financial insight to support decision\-making across the group
· Manage financial processes across multiple companies, sites and business areas
· Support financial planning for growth, new projects and potential acquisitions
Payroll, Compliance \& Controls
· Oversee and review monthly payroll processing completed by the finance team
· Maintain strong financial controls, processes and accurate financial records
· Review and improve finance procedures to ensure consistency across the businesses
· Assist with year\-end processes and liaise with external accountants, auditors and professional advisers
· Ensure deadlines are met for statutory, tax, payroll and internal reporting requirements
Team Leadership \& Support
· Supervise and support the Finance \& Business Assistant and Accounts Assistant
· Provide clear guidance, structure and accountability within the finance team
· Encourage confidence, professional growth and high standards within the team
· Create a supportive, proactive and solutions\-focused finance culture
· Ensure continuity and resilience within the finance function
Operational Support \& Relationship Management
· Build positive and professional working relationships with colleagues, managers and external partners
· Provide approachable and proactive financial support to operational teams across the organisation
· Work closely with managers to help them understand financial performance, budgets and KPIs
· Identify opportunities to improve systems, processes and efficiencies
· Support the smooth day\-to\-day running of the finance function across a varied and growing group of businesses
About You
You will be an experienced finance professional who is confident operating in a senior finance role and comfortable working across multiple businesses or entities. You will combine strong technical finance knowledge with a practical, organised and supportive approach.
You will be someone who enjoys building positive working relationships, improving processes and helping leaders make informed decisions. You will be confident managing deadlines, supporting a small team and working with a high level of accuracy, discretion and ownership.
You will have:
· Experience in a senior finance role, ideally within a growing SME or multi\-entity organisation
· Strong experience preparing management accounts, financial reports, VAT returns, payroll review, cashflow reporting and annual accounts information
· Experience working across multiple businesses, entities, sites or income streams
· A strong understanding of financial controls, compliance, reconciliations and reporting deadlines
· The ability to interpret financial information and provide clear, practical insight to non\-finance colleagues
· Experience supervising or supporting a small finance team
· Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities effectively
· A proactive, detail\-focused and solutions\-led approach
· Excellent communication skills, with the confidence to work with senior leaders, operational managers and external advisers
· Strong IT skills, including accounting software and Microsoft Excel
Qualifications
You will ideally be a qualified or part\-qualified accountant, such as ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent.
Candidates who are AAT Level 4 qualified with significant senior finance experience will also be considered, particularly where they can demonstrate strong experience across management accounts, VAT, payroll oversight, cashflow, multi\-entity reporting and team supervision.
