About Fire \& Flow

Fire \& Flow is a speciality coffee roastery based in the Cotswolds, supplying high quality coffee to a growing network of wholesale partners, alongside operating a large, high\-volume brunch cafe on site.

We’re a growing business with ambitious plans over the next 5 years. We’re now looking for a driven and commercially minded Finance Manager to help build the financial structure, reporting, and insight we need for the next stage of growth.

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced and ambitious Finance Manager to take ownership of the day\-to\-day finance function at Fire \& Flow, and help us strengthen it as the business continues to grow.

This is a hands\-on role and you will be responsible for ensuring the business has accurate financial records, clear management reporting, reliable cashflow visibility, and strong financial controls.

You will work closely with the Company Directors and department heads to provide clear financial insight across the business, helping understand performance, manage costs, improve profitability, and make informed commercial decisions.

As Fire \& Flow continues to grow, this role will be central to building a finance function that is structured, scalable, and able to support a more complex business. We are looking for someone who can improve our current reporting, strengthen processes and controls, and help shape the finance function for the next stage of growth.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Management \& Reporting

  • Take ownership of the day\-to\-day finance function, providing the company directors with all the relevant information to run the company efficiently

  • Develop improved and accurate monthly management accounts and reports, and report on a monthly basis

  • Monitor cash flow, profitability, margins, and business performance

  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning

  • Provide insight into performance across wholesale, coffee shop, ecommerce, and other revenue streams

  • Help turn financial data into practical actions and decisions
Bookkeeping, Systems \& Controls
  • Manage bookkeeping processes and ensure accurate financial records

  • Manage bank reconciliations, supplier payments, customer payments, and finance administration

  • Ensure finance systems and processes are efficient, accurate, and scalable

  • Improve financial controls and reporting processes as the business grows

  • Help build simple, reliable systems that support better visibility and decision\-making

  • Ensure records are maintained clearly and consistently
Payroll \& Compliance
  • Manage payroll preparation/submission, and ensure payroll information is accurate

  • Liaise with external accountants and other professional advisers where required

  • Prepare and submit Group VAT returns

  • Support our year\-end accounts, and statutory reporting processes

  • Ensure financial processes are compliant and well documented
Commercial Finance \& Business Support
  • Work closely with the Directors to understand financial performance and highlight key risks or opportunities

  • Support pricing, margin reviews, cost control, and budgeting decisions

  • Help identify areas where profitability and efficiency can be improved

  • Support financial planning for our future growth models

  • Bring curiosity and commercial thinking to the numbers, not just reporting what has already happened
Team \& Cross\-Department Collaboration
  • Work closely with department heads to improve financial understanding and accountability, including identifying \& reporting the KPI’s for each department

  • Support managers with budgets, cost tracking, and performance reporting

  • Translate financial information into clear, practical insight for non\-finance team members

  • Help create a culture where financial information is useful, understood, and acted on
What We’re Looking For

Essential

  • AAT Level 3 qualified as a minimum, or ACCA / CIMA / ACA part\-qualified or qualified.

  • Experience with Xero

  • Experience in a finance manager or similar finance role

  • Strong understanding of management accounts, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting

  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy

  • Strong commercial awareness and ability to interpret financial information

  • Highly organised and able to manage competing priorities

  • Confident communicating financial information clearly

  • Ambitious, proactive, and excited by the opportunity to grow with the business
Desirable
  • Fully ACCA, CIMA or ACA qualified.

  • Experience working in a growing and dynamic SME

  • Experience improving financial systems, reporting, and internal processes

  • Experience with processing payroll, submitting VAT returns, and stock reporting

  • Interest in growing into a more senior finance role as the business develops
