Finance Manager

We’re looking for an experienced Finance Manager to join a busy finance team in Havant. This is an initially temporary opportunity, with the potential to become permanent for the right person. Please note that a permanent position is not guaranteed.

Reporting to the Head of Finance, you’ll have a broad role across financial accounting, reporting and controls, while also overseeing members of the finance team.
The role You’ll be responsible for:

• Preparing monthly management accounts and financial reporting


• Balance sheet reconciliations and financial controls


• Preparing and submitting quarterly VAT returns


• Cashflow forecasting and analysis


• Fixed assets and capital expenditure


• Supporting budgets and business cases


• Leading on external audit and year-end


• Overseeing Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable


• Managing Direct Debit and BACS processes


• Supporting payroll journals and banking


• Improving finance processes and systems

We’re looking for someone with strong hands-on financial accounting experience, ideally with:

• Previous Finance Manager or similar senior finance experience


• Experience with management accounts, reconciliations and VAT


• External audit and year-end experience


• Previous experience managing or supervising finance staff


• Experience with Direct Debit processing


• Strong Excel and finance systems skills


• AAT qualified or part-qualified ACCA, ACA or CIMA

You’ll be organised, analytical and confident working to deadlines, with strong communication skills and a proactive approach.
