Elevation Recruitment Group are currently working with a large, well-established UK group to recruit a Finance Business Partner into a key operational area of the business.
This is a genuinely commercial role, partnering closely with the operational leadership team within a business that supplies materials and services into the social housing sector.
The role would suit an experienced Finance Business Partner, but equally someone coming from a strong Management Accounting background who is looking to move further into business partnering and take greater ownership of commercial performance.
The Role Working closely with Operations and the wider Finance function, you'll provide financial insight, analysis and challenge to help the business understand and improve performance.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Business partnering with operational and senior management teams, providing financial insight to support decision making.
- Producing and analysing monthly management information, identifying trends, variances and key performance drivers.
- Supporting budgeting, forecasting and planning activity alongside operational stakeholders.
- Providing analysis across revenue, margins, costs and operational performance to identify opportunities and areas of risk.
- Working with budget holders to understand performance against plan and agree actions where required.
- Developing and monitoring KPIs and reporting to improve visibility of business performance.
- Providing financial analysis and modelling to support commercial decisions, projects and new initiatives.
- Challenging assumptions and performance where appropriate, whilst building strong relationships with non-finance stakeholders.
- Working closely with the wider finance team to improve reporting, processes and the quality of information available to the business.
You may currently be a Finance Business Partner, Commercial Accountant, Senior Management Accountant, Management Accountant or Finance Analyst and be looking for your next step.
You'll ideally have:
- A recognised accountancy qualification, either fully qualified or part qualified.
- Strong management accounting and financial analysis experience.
- Experience partnering with operational, commercial or non-finance stakeholders.
- Experience across budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis and management reporting.
- The confidence to explain financial information clearly and challenge stakeholders where appropriate.
- A commercial mindset and an interest in understanding what is driving business performance.
- Strong Excel and financial systems skills.
- A proactive approach and the ability to build effective relationships across the business.
You'll have genuine exposure to operational decision making and senior stakeholders, with the opportunity to develop your commercial finance and business partnering experience.
