Salary: £65k + 10% Bonus

The Opportunity

The division of a large international group is looking for a qualified Finance Business Partner to provide high-quality financial insight and decision support to senior stakeholders across the business.

The role sits at the point where commercial finance, controllership and service governance meet. Alongside the partnering work, you will provide the review, challenge and oversight of month-end deliverables, keeping the control environment robust while driving continuous improvement in how that service operates.

It will suit a qualified accountant with genuine business partnering credentials who wants exposure to senior leadership from day one, and who is equally comfortable building a forecast model and holding an offshore service team to account on the quality of a balance sheet reconciliation.

What you'll be doing

• Act as a trusted finance partner to senior stakeholders, providing insight, challenge and guidance to support strategic and operational decision-making


• Translate financial results into clear, actionable commentary on performance, risks and opportunities


• Build and maintain financial models supporting forecasting and budgeting, business cases and investment proposals, and scenario, sensitivity and options analysis


• Analyse and interpret trading performance data, identifying the financial and operational drivers, trends and risks behind the numbers


• Work with business leads on monthly forecasts, communicating risks and opportunities upwards


• Partner with business leads on the annual budget and prepare the budget presentation for the Managing Director


• Load budgets into the ERP system and complete group reporting deliverables


• Review and challenge outputs, including monthly management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations, journals and accruals, and month-end close deliverables against the close checklist


• Drive continuous improvement across processes, with a focus on standardisation, automation and efficiency


• Partner to improve service quality, knowledge transfer and issue prevention


• Promote a strong control mindset while enabling a value-adding, business-focused finance function

Essential

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA)


• Proven track record as a finance business partner


• Strong management accounting experience


• Excellent analytical, review and problem-solving skills


• Able to communicate complex financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders


• Advanced Excel, and confident working with a complex accounting package or ERP


• Driven to deadlines while maintaining strong financial accounting integrity

• Circa £65k basic salary


• 10% Bonus
