At Axle Energy, we’re building the infrastructure that will underpin the decarbonised energy system. Our software moves energy usage to times when electricity is cheap and green, by controlling vehicle charging, heating systems, and home batteries. We control hundreds of thousands of energy assets.

About the role
------------------
We’re looking for someone who can build and scale a high\-performing finance function in a fast\-growing environment. You’ll establish the systems, controls, reporting, and financial infrastructure needed to support Axle’s next phase of growth, while balancing strategic oversight with hands\-on execution.
You’ll bring strong commercial acumen and financial leadership, using data\-driven insights to inform decision\-making, strengthen financial governance, and ensure the business can scale efficiently and sustainably.
This is a broad, high\-impact role with significant ownership and exposure across the business, offering the opportunity to shape the financial foundations that underpin Axle’s long\-term success. Axle makes money by participating in a range of energy markets, and finance is a core part of our product; it’s not just back\-office.
What you will be doing
--------------------------
- Developing a scalable finance function, including systems, controls, processes, and reporting infrastructure
- Owning finance\-based products, including financing and tolling agreements
- Owning financial reporting, monthly close, and performance insights to support strategic decision\-making
- Overseeing reconciliation of trading activity, settlements and cash movements to ensure financial accuracy
- Ensuring financial integrity through oversight of trading activity, settlements, reconciliations, and cash movements
- Managing relationships with external accounting, banking, and financial services partners, to support effective governance and growth
