Finance Assistant
Location: Birmingham - Hybrid
Job Type: Full Time | Permanent
Salary: £30,000 - £35,000

A leading organisation is seeking a Finance Assistant to join its growing Finance Business Partnering team. This is an excellent opportunity for a part-qualified accountant or experienced Finance Assistant looking to progress their career in management accounting, financial analysis and business partnering.

Working within a fast-paced finance team, you will support budgeting, forecasting, monthly management accounts and financial reporting across multiple operational areas. The role offers strong career progression, professional development and exposure to senior stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities As Finance Assistant, your responsibilities will include:
  • Supporting monthly management accounts preparation

  • Assisting with budgets, forecasts and financial planning

  • Producing variance analysis and financial reporting

  • Supporting cost analysis, resource allocation and staffing reporting

  • Completing balance sheet reconciliations

  • Providing financial insight to operational stakeholders

  • Producing ad-hoc finance reports and analysis

  • Supporting financial controls and process improvements

  • Working closely with wider finance and accounting teams

  • Assisting budget holders with financial queries and reporting interpretation

Skills & Experience Required To be successful in this Finance Assistant role, you should have:
  • Previous experience in a finance, accounting or management accounts role

  • Experience preparing financial reports and analysing data

  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

  • High attention to detail and strong organisational skills

  • Ability to manage deadlines and multiple priorities

  • A proactive and collaborative approach to work

You may currently be working as a:
  • Finance Assistant

  • Assistant Accountant

  • Assistant Management Accountant

  • Management Accounts Assistant

  • Finance Analyst

  • Accounts Assistant

  • Commercial Finance Assistant

Qualifications • Part-qualified ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA or equivalent preferred
  • Candidates actively studying towards a professional accountancy qualification are encouraged to apply

  • Relevant finance and accounting experience will also be considered
