About the Role
We are currently seeking an ambitious and detail\-oriented Finance Assistant to join our small but busy team in Glasgow. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a successful and growing property management business.
As Finance Assistant, you will work closely with the Director and Office Manager, performing a key role in managing the day\-to\-day financial operations of the company. You will support all aspects of financial administration and help ensure the smooth and efficient running of the business.
This is a challenging yet rewarding position, requiring strong numerical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage a varied workload.
Key Responsibilities
- Processing daily rental income using the PayProp banking platform and actively managing rent arrears
- Creating and issuing invoices, monitoring payments, and chasing overdue amounts
- Processing and paying contractor invoices in a timely and accurate manner
- Accurately recording all financial transactions using QuickBooks accounting software
- Managing payroll, including salaries, P45, P60, P11D, pension contributions, and liaising with HMRC
- Preparing and submitting quarterly VAT returns
- Ensuring payments due from Non\-Resident Landlords are made in accordance with HMRC requirements
- Reconciling bank accounts
- Managing petty cash and processing staff expenses
- Previous experience in a finance or accounts role
- Strong numerical and analytical skills
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Good working knowledge of accounting software (QuickBooks preferred)
- Ability to manage workload and meet deadlines
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- An understanding of the private rented sector would be advantageous
