We take pride in fostering a supportive and motivating work environment where employees are truly valued. Our Bristol office is now looking to expand our Finance team by welcoming a detail\-oriented and proactive Finance Assistant.
Role Overview
Reporting directly to the Head of Finance, you will play a key role in the effective and accurate processing of financial transactions across both the sales and purchase ledgers. You'll be working with industry\-standard software (Xero and Teams) and liaising with internal departments, suppliers, and customers to ensure smooth financial operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and control the sales and purchase ledgers
- Raise customer invoices in a timely manner
- Process payments for supplier invoices and staff expenses
- Reconcile bank transactions and manage company cash flow
- Process invoices, remittances, and direct debits/standing orders
- Monitor accounts payable/receivable and resolve discrepancies
- Support monthly bank and trade reconciliations
- Assist with payroll processing and financial reporting
- Maintain accurate financial records in compliance with internal controls and HMRC regulations
- Support VAT returns and general administrative duties within the finance team
- Participate in month\-end and year\-end closing activities
- Work on ad\-hoc projects as required by the finance team or Directors
- Prior experience in an accounts/finance department
- Experience with Xero or similar online accounting software
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Self\-motivated with strong organizational skills
