Finance Assistant
Keep the numbers right in a fast\-moving aviation business — and help build a finance function for its next stage.
We're looking for an accurate, organised and hands\-on Finance Assistant to own the day\-to\-day accounting for BOSA. You'll keep our ledgers accurate and up to date, giving senior management the reliable numbers they need to make good decisions.
Who you'll work with
BOSA is an aircraft maintenance (MRO) business operating across the UK and Ireland, part of the FEAM Aero group. You'll report to our Finance Lead in the group finance team in Copenhagen, working closely with site management, operations, commercial colleagues, and external partners including payroll providers, auditors and banks.
Our finance function is growing alongside the business, with a new ERP system on the way. It's a genuinely exciting time to join if you want to help build a multi\-entity, multi\-currency finance function — and learn a lot along the way.
What you'll do
- Accounts payable – process supplier invoices, expenses and credit card statements; reconcile supplier statements; prepare payment runs
- Accounts receivable – raise sales invoices and credit notes, allocate customer receipts, keep the sales ledger current
- Month end – assist with month\-end reports and schedules for local and group reporting
- VAT \& compliance – support UK and Irish VAT returns, year\-end audit and tax compliance requests
- Payroll support – gather monthly payroll inputs, prepare documentation for our external payroll providers and reconcile against the ledger
- Process improvement – help document and improve how finance operates
- A bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economics, Accounting or a related field, with a solid grasp of accounting principles (master's degree a plus)
- Previous experience in a finance, accounts or administrative role
- Experience with accounting software or an ERP system (e.g. Sage)
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Excellent numerical and analytical skills, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team
- A professional approach, comfortable handling confidential information
- AAT qualification, or studying towards AAT Level 2, 3 or 4
- Experience of payroll processing
- Knowledge of UK and Irish VAT procedures
- A hands\-on role with real ownership at the centre of the finance function
- Exposure to an international group, multi\-entity and multi\-currency accounting, and a new ERP implementation
- Full\-time, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with hybrid flexibility once established
