Based on the outskirts of Glasgow, our client is seeking an Accounts Assistant to join their finance team on a full-time, permanent basis. The working hours are Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, with an early finish of 3:45pm on a Friday. The organisation offers hybrid working-4 days in the office and 1 day from home. The offices have on-site parking and are easily accessible via local public transport. This opportunity provides excellent exposure within a supportive finance function and would suit a Finance Assistant/ Finance Administrator looking to utilise their skillset to add value whilst further developing their experience.


Your new role

As an Accounts Assistant, you will support a range of transactional and general accounting activities, working closely with the wider finance team to ensure accuracy and efficiency across core processes.This is a varied, hands-on role that will allow you to build on your existing experience while developing broader accounting knowledge and skills.Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Processing sales and purchase invoices

  • Managing credit control activities and maintaining customer accounts

  • Processing staff expenses and supporting payment runs

  • Maintaining and posting cash books

  • Assisting with nominal journals and routine accounting entries

  • Supporting Month-End reporting and wider duties

  • Supporting day-to-day finance administration

You will also have the opportunity to take on additional tasks over time, contributing to process improvements and supporting the continued development of the finance function.


What you'll need to succeed

You will ideally have previous experience in a finance support role, such as Accounts Assistant, Finance Assistant or Finance Administrator, and be confident managing transactional finance tasks.To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

  • Experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable or general finance administration

  • Strong attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy

  • A proactive and reliable approach, with the ability to work independently

  • Good working knowledge of Excel and finance systems (Sage or similar advantageous)

  • A willingness to learn and take on additional responsibilities
