Your new company
Based on the outskirts of Glasgow, our client is seeking an Accounts Assistant to join their finance team on a full-time, permanent basis. The working hours are Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, with an early finish of 3:45pm on a Friday. The organisation offers hybrid working-4 days in the office and 1 day from home. The offices have on-site parking and are easily accessible via local public transport. This opportunity provides excellent exposure within a supportive finance function and would suit a Finance Assistant/ Finance Administrator looking to utilise their skillset to add value whilst further developing their experience.
Your new role
As an Accounts Assistant, you will support a range of transactional and general accounting activities, working closely with the wider finance team to ensure accuracy and efficiency across core processes.This is a varied, hands-on role that will allow you to build on your existing experience while developing broader accounting knowledge and skills.Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Processing sales and purchase invoices
- Managing credit control activities and maintaining customer accounts
- Processing staff expenses and supporting payment runs
- Maintaining and posting cash books
- Assisting with nominal journals and routine accounting entries
- Supporting Month-End reporting and wider duties
- Supporting day-to-day finance administration
What you'll need to succeed
You will ideally have previous experience in a finance support role, such as Accounts Assistant, Finance Assistant or Finance Administrator, and be confident managing transactional finance tasks.To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
- Experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable or general finance administration
- Strong attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy
- A proactive and reliable approach, with the ability to work independently
- Good working knowledge of Excel and finance systems (Sage or similar advantageous)
- A willingness to learn and take on additional responsibilities
A stable, full-time role with structured working hours, hybrid working and an early finish on Fridays. A positive and collaborative working environment.
