Finance & Admin Manager

GS Foam Concrete is a specialist foam concrete business operating across infrastructure, rail and construction sectors throughout the UK.
We are looking for an experienced finance and administration professional to take responsibility for the day\-to\-day finance and administration functions of our business.
This is a varied, hands\-on management role within a small company. You will be directly involved in the day\-to\-day work as well as taking ownership of ensuring that our finance and administration systems are accurate, organised and effectively managed.
The Role
Your responsibilities will be split across two main areas:
Finance
You will manage our day\-to\-day accounts using Sage, including:
· Purchase ledger and supplier invoice processing.
· Preparing supplier BACS payment runs.
· Credit control.
· Sage bank reconciliations.
· VAT returns.
· Employee expenses and company credit card reconciliation.
· Producing monthly Profit \& Loss reports.
· Maintaining supplier credit accounts and payment terms.
· Maintaining accurate and reliable financial records.
Attention to detail and accuracy are particularly important, as you will be responsible for maintaining the integrity of our accounting records and payment processes.
Administration
Alongside finance, you will take responsibility for a varied range of business administration, including:
· Employee timesheets and working\-hours records.
· Employee training, competency and certification records.
· Vehicle fleet administration, daily check records and fuel monitoring.
· Plant and equipment servicing, maintenance and certification records.
· New supplier due diligence and account applications.
· Completing customer PQQs and onboarding requirements.
· Property and facilities administration, including utilities, maintenance and premises\-related requirements.
· General business administration and support to the directors and wider team.
About You
This role would suit someone with good practical experience in accounts and business administration who is looking for greater responsibility and the opportunity to broaden their experience.
We are looking for someone who:
· Has good practical experience of day\-to\-day accounting and bookkeeping.
· Has experience using Sage or a similar accounting package.
· Is comfortable working with purchase ledgers, VAT, reconciliations and credit control.
· Is numerically confident, accurate and highly organised.
· Has excellent attention to detail.
· Is comfortable managing a varied workload and multiple priorities.
· Can work independently, take ownership and see tasks through to completion.
· Is confident communicating with colleagues, customers, suppliers and external contacts.
· Is trustworthy and comfortable handling confidential financial and employee information.
· Is proactive, practical, adaptable and willing to get involved.
Experience within a small or medium\-sized business would be particularly useful. Experience within construction, engineering or contracting would be advantageous but is not essential.
