Field Services Motor & Generator Technician
Salary: £41,000\-£50,000 per annum depending on experience \+ uncapped overtime
Quartzelec is a leading UK independent electrical engineering group delivering design, manufacturing, installation, maintenance and service solutions to customers across a broad range of industrial and commercial sectors.
Due to continuous growth, we are now looking to recruit an experienced Electrical test Engineer with rotating machines experience to work at our various sites in the UK, overseas and offshore.
Key Responsibilities
- Overall safety of the QE team and activities undertaken
- Review Risk Assessments and Method Statements
- Ensure RAMS briefed to all relevant persons (QE \& Client)
- Work with the Project Manager to produce a realistic Project Plan capturing resource requirements and predicted durations
- Monitor progress against Project Plan and develop mitigations for any actual, or likely, slippage
- Manage working hours \& shift patterns by agreement with client to ensure projects run to planned durations
- Work with the Project Manager and responsible Engineer to ensure all check sheets and quality record forms required are collated and distributed before mobilisation to site.
- Ensure check sheets / records completed and any requiring further review are clearly marked as such and returned to Rugby on a daily basis.
- Day to day communication with client representatives on site
- Ensure daily logs are completed after the completion of the shift and sent back to Rugby each evening
- Compile the final report in the correct format in a timely manner.
- Manage client’s positive perception of QE quality standards for both site work and activity undertaken in Rugby or other business units.
The succesful applicant will possess:
- Technical experience in Motors and Generators
- Experienced fitter or winder
- Time served with college level technical qualification
- Minimum 3 years site project experience on rotating electrical machines
- Knowledge of medium and large electrical rotating machines (High Voltage), AC \& DC motors, generators and Hydro Power stations Experience in electrical testing: high and low voltage testing of electrical rotating machines, such as o PD\&TD testing, EI CID testing, RSO testing, HV Leakage testing.
- Professional, presentable and courteous conduct at all times whilst working
- Good communication with the Project Manager during the project work
- Clear and assertive communicator
- Efficient Work planning and execution
- Be willing to travel nationally and internationally at short notice.
