We work with gyms, fitness studios, sports clubs, schools, corporate wellness facilities, hotels and home users throughout Ireland. Our equipment portfolio includes treadmills, cross trainers, bikes, rowing machines, strength equipment and a wide range of commercial fitness products from leading manufacturers.

As our service department continues to grow, we are looking for a Service Field Technician to join our team and help provide a high standard of servicing, maintenance and repair to customers nationwide.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with their hands, solving technical problems and working independently, while being part of a growing and supportive team.

The Opportunity

We are looking for a motivated and practical Service Field Technician to carry out servicing, preventative maintenance, fault finding, repairs and installations of fitness equipment at customer sites.

The role will involve travelling to commercial gyms, hotels, sports clubs, schools, corporate facilities and private homes throughout Ireland.

You will be responsible for diagnosing faults, carrying out repairs and servicing equipment to a high standard, while providing a professional and friendly service to our customers.

Previous experience working with fitness equipment is beneficial but not essential. We are particularly interested in candidates with a mechanical, electrical, engineering or technical background who are willing to learn.

Key Responsibilities:

Servicing \& Maintenance

  • Carry out preventative maintenance and servicing of commercial and domestic fitness equipment

  • Inspect equipment for wear, damage and potential safety issues

  • Complete routine maintenance including lubrication, adjustment, cleaning and component replacement

  • Ensure equipment is operating safely and correctly following servicing

  • Complete service reports accurately following each visit
Fault Finding \& Repairs
  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults on fitness equipment

  • Identify the cause of equipment failures and recommend appropriate repairs

  • Replace components including motors, belts, bearings, cables, rollers, pedals, drive systems and electronic components

  • Carry out electrical and mechanical troubleshooting where appropriate

  • Test equipment following repairs to ensure it is safe and fully operational

  • Escalate complex faults or technical issues where required
Installation \& Equipment Setup
  • Assist with the installation and commissioning of new fitness equipment

  • Assemble and position equipment safely and correctly

  • Carry out equipment testing and final checks following installation

  • Work as part of an installation team on larger commercial projects when required
Customer Service
  • Represent Fitness Equipment Ireland professionally while working at customer sites

  • Communicate clearly with customers regarding equipment faults, repairs and maintenance requirements

  • Provide customers with advice on equipment use, maintenance and preventative care

  • Identify additional repair or maintenance requirements and communicate these to the service team

  • Maintain a clean, professional and organised working environment
Administration \& Reporting
  • Complete accurate service reports following each job

  • Record parts used and identify parts required for follow\-up repairs

  • Update job information and service records within company systems

  • Take photographs and provide technical information where required

  • Communicate effectively with the Service Manager and wider team
What We're Looking For:

Essential

  • Full clean driving licence

  • Strong practical and mechanical aptitude

  • Good problem\-solving skills

  • Ability to work independently and manage your own workload

  • Good attention to detail

  • Strong communication and customer service skills

  • Reliable, punctual and professional approach

  • Comfortable travelling to customer sites throughout Ireland

  • Willingness to learn and develop technical skills
Highly Desirable
  • Experience in a technical, mechanical, electrical, engineering or maintenance role

  • Previous experience servicing or repairing gym/fitness equipment

  • Electrical or mechanical qualification

  • Experience using hand and power tools

  • Experience fault finding mechanical or electrical equipment

  • Previous field\-based or mobile technician experience

  • Knowledge of commercial fitness equipment
Training will be provided for the right candidate, including product\-specific training and technical development.

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will be someone who enjoys fixing things and figuring out how things work.

You don't necessarily need to have worked on gym equipment before. If you have a good mechanical or technical mindset, are comfortable using tools, can troubleshoot problems logically and take pride in doing a good job, we would like to hear from you.

The role would suit someone from a background such as:
