Electro\-Medical Engineering Services Ltd is looking for a Field Service Engineer to join our team in Urmston, Manchester.
We service, calibrate, and repair medical and physiotherapy equipment for hospitals and private clinics across the North of the UK. You'll split your time between visiting client sites and working from our Urmston workshop, with occasional overnight stays and early starts when a site visit requires it.
Full training is provided on all technical and regulatory aspects of the role — you don't need prior experience with medical devices specifically, just a solid electronics background and the right attitude.
What You'll Be Doing
- Carrying out planned preventative maintenance and general servicing of medical/physiotherapy equipment
- Performing electrical safety testing to BS EN 62353
- Conducting performance testing, calibration, and fault\-finding/repairs
- Travelling to hospitals and clinics across the North of the UK, as well as working from our Urmston office
Treatment couches, therapeutic ultrasound, interferential/stimulators, biofeedback devices, shockwave, shortwave, laser, CPM machines, and gym equipment.
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience as a service engineer (any sector)
- A qualification in electronics (BTEC Electronic Engineering or equivalent preferred)
- A solid grasp of basic electronic principles
- Comfortable using Microsoft Word and Excel
- Full, clean driving licence
- Happy to travel regularly around the North of the UK, with occasional overnight stays and early starts
- Strong time management and attention to detail
- Based within a reasonable commute of Urmston, Manchester
- Starting salary from £32,000, depending on experience
- Full training provided — no prior medical device experience required
