AMS is recruiting Part-Time Field Interviewers to support the Office for National Statistics (ONS) across multiple UK locations. This is a unique opportunity to contribute directly to the collection of official data that informs national decisions on public services, the economy, and communities across the UK.

What the role involves
- Visiting pre-selected households chosen through a statistical sample (not volunteers)
- Conducting structured interviews and collecting accurate data using digital tools
- Explaining the purpose of each study clearly and building rapport quickly
- Managing your own schedule, travel, and administration
- Representing ONS professionally within the community
- Confident communicators who enjoy engaging with the public
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Professional, resilient, and well-organised approach to work
- Flexibility to work varied hours
- Access to a car and a full UK driving licence
- Willingness to travel between sampled addresses
- Flexibility to work evenings and Saturdays
- Average 22 hours per week
- Interview visits take place between 09:00 and 20:00
- Shifts may fall between 09:00–12:00, 12:00–18:00, 18:00–20:00, and Saturdays 09:00–20:00
- Some travel and admin may take place outside interview hours
- £13.25 per hour
- Holiday pay: £1.99 per hour
- Total hourly rate: £15.24
- Start date: Once pre-employment checks are completed
- Contract: 12 months, with potential extension
Full training and ongoing support will be provided to ensure you feel confident and successful in the role.
