Hard Services Manager (contract)

On Site role – you’ll be needed on site 5 days per week but we can be flexible around hours/critical time at home.
Site location: Emersons Green HQ (BS16 7FS) + Filton building (10 min from our Emersons Green site).
Duration: 3 month initial with potential to extend by a further month or three but we’re not expecting this to turn into a long term assignment.
Reason for the role: Our existing hard Services Manager is due to be off work over the next three months, potentially longer, so we needed some temporary cover to support. Incumbent is off work from 5th Oct onwards so we’re looking to get someone in ASAP.
The main focus of the role is to support the continuous improvement of our Hard Services related compliance challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support Compliance Activities – Building LEV (local exhaust ventilation), fire safety, legionella – assessing current stage and driving what needs to support continuous development. Problem analysis and solutions.
- Review heating systems, chilled water systems, driving remedial actions through to completion.
- Support project planning activities as needed
- Asset replacement schedule – support a move to proactive maintenance.
- Supporting process and procedure capability development.
- Contractor/Vendor Management
- Management of work permits for high-risk work.
- Experienced Hard Services Manager – “been there done that”.
- Strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems commonly found in complex/advanced manufacturing facilities. Relevant qualifications would be desirable. For example, CIBSE.
- R&D or Advanced Manufacturing Building experience.
- Facilities & Building Maintenance background.
- Record keeping experience
- Demonstratable experience issuing contractor permits for high-risk activities. E.g work at height.
- Good communication & stakeholder management skills
- Strength around compliance considerations.
