Teaching Personnel are recruiting for a specialist SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) provision in Greater Manchester, supporting students aged 11–16 who require a more personalised and flexible approach to education.

The Role

We are seeking an experienced and driven SENCO to lead the school’s SEND provision. This is a key leadership role, combining strategic oversight with a hands-on, practical approach to supporting both staff and students.

You will play a vital part in ensuring every learner receives the tailored support they need to succeed academically, socially, and emotionally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage SEND provision across the school

  • Oversee EHCP processes, annual reviews, and provision mapping

  • Identify student needs and implement targeted interventions

  • Support and mentor staff to deliver inclusive, high-quality teaching

  • Work closely with parents/carers, local authorities, and external agencies

  • Ensure compliance with SEND Code of Practice and statutory requirements

  • Provide classroom support and cover where required

About You
  • Holds (or is working towards) the NASENCO qualification

  • Strong experience supporting students with SEMH, SEND, and complex needs

  • Ability to lead SEND strategy and contribute to whole-school improvement

  • Confident supporting staff and promoting best practice

  • Resilient, adaptable, and calm under pressure

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills

  • Willing to take a hands-on role within the classroom when needed
