THE DIFFERENCE YOU MAKE

SCIB is looking for an Executive Director, Trade and Working Capital based out of Frankfurt .

As an Executive Director , you will be responsible for global sales, origination and management of a cluster of customers in the DACH \& Nordics region. You will have responsibility for P\&L and people management as team head for your cluster.

We’re shaping the way we work through innovation, cutting\-edge technology, collaboration and the freedom to explore new ideas. To succeed in this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Originate new Trade \& Working Capital business through regular client calling, by developing key relationships and by maintaining and enhancing revenues in the portfolio.

  • Coordinate and align on business asks, commercial plans, financial analyses and pitches with the relationship management team for the customer as well as other internal stakeholders (Product, Working Capital Advisory, Private Debt Mobilisation (Syndicate desk), Compliance, Legal, IT, Operations, etc.) to provide a best\-in\-class service and seamless end\-to\-end origination and execution.

  • Maintain knowledge and awareness of key trends across our core sectors and the potential application of our working capital products, and position and facilitate cross\-sell opportunities for Santander.

  • Deliver client presentations and actively drive sales and coverage initiatives. Manage client journey from sales through implementation, and act as escalation point of contact internally and externally.

  • Manage transactions through the internal approval and execution process considering the bank’s profitability and portfolio requirements.

  • Adherence to internal processes and governance to ensure control and transparency over sales activity

  • Manage the existing portfolio business and enhance profitability and revenues in line with Santander’s requirements.

  • Manage, teach and develop direct reports and support hiring and interviewing.

  • Support the team in external advocacy roles to continue building up Santander's branding and thought leadership.

Professional Experience

  • Minimum of 8 to 10 years of relevant experience in banking and/or Trade \& Working Capital instruments and solutions (Required)

  • At least 4 to 5 years of customer\-facing and/or sales experience (Required)

  • Experience in managing and developing people
Education
  • B.A. in Finance, Business Administration or equivalent or other university and business school qualifications, such as finance, law, engineering, math, physics, or economics, as examples. (Required)
Languages
  • Fluency in English and in German (Required).

  • Spanish or any other language in particular a Nordic language would be a plus (Preferred).
Hard Skills
  • Expertise in trade \& working capital products, structures and geographies (Required)

  • Knowledge in corporate banking (Preferred)

  • Basic knowledge in legal structures (Preferred)

  • Knowledge on how to lead customer calls
