Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail\-oriented Events Operations Manager to lead the planning, coordination, and execution of a wide range of events. This role is vital in ensuring seamless event experiences that delight guests, maximize revenue opportunities through upselling, and uphold the highest standards of hospitality. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast\-paced environment, demonstrate exceptional organizational and communication skills, and possess a passion for creating memorable events that leave a lasting impression. Duties
- Attain a working knowledge of the event/function taking place, together with the menu and wine list.
- To maintain excellent relations with each client and organiser and build a relationship for future events.
- Interpret the Function Sheets accurately and ensure the customer's stated expectations are met.
- Ensure that event chambers, cinema and bowling alley are in an appropriate state for show\-rounds of potential clients, either by prior or chance appointments.
- Control departmental costs, wastage and expenses. Encourage energy saving and other environmental initiatives, without detrimental effect on service or safety.
- To ensure that all reporting team members maintain the highest standard of the service provided to the guests.
- Actively encourage and manage the development of the staff through appraisal, review meetings, etc. to deliver the business objectives.
- Oversee all aspects of event operations from initial planning through execution, ensuring timely delivery and flawless guest experiences
- Coordinate with vendors, venues, and internal teams to secure necessary resources and services for each event
- Manage event timelines meticulously, prioritizing tasks effectively to meet deadlines while maintaining flexibility for unforeseen changes
- Upsell additional services or packages to enhance guest satisfaction and increase revenue potential
- Supervise setup, breakdown, and on\-site logistics to ensure smooth flow and safety throughout each event
- Provide exceptional guest services by addressing inquiries promptly, resolving issues efficiently, and ensuring a welcoming atmosphere
- Maintain detailed records of event activities, budgets, vendor contacts, and post\-event evaluations
- Proven experience in event management or hospitality roles such as restaurant or hotel operations with a focus on large\-scale events or banquets
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills for liaising with clients, vendors, team members, and guests effectively
- Demonstrated ability in upselling services or products to enhance guest experiences and revenue streams
- Familiarity with fundraising activities or charitable events is a plus
- Prior experience in guest services within hospitality environments ensures a guest\-centric approach to event management
- Knowledge of time management techniques that enable efficient planning and execution of complex events
