Events and Hospitality Coordinator

We are recruiting for a full\-time Events and Hospitality Coordinator to become part of our hard\-working, energetic and friendly team at Hebden Bridge Community Association, the charity that owns and runs the Town Hall in Hebden Bridge.

We are looking for someone who will be able to work flexibly across office hours and events, which will almost always include Saturdays, and will include late nights finishes \[1am].

This is a public\-facing role, and it’s a fantastic opportunity to gain experience and responsibility in hospitality. You will be involved in the planning and hands\-on delivery of events, office and admin duties, working with our catering team and on the bar. The balance will vary to suit the needs of the charity, the team, and the event.

This role does not involve programming your own events. We do not run our own events at the Town Hall, but instead we act as a venue and host for community, business and private hires. You will mostly be organising, preparing for, and delivering, private events like weddings and parties; following the booking process from initial visit right through to the big day. You will also be involved in a variety of community and business hires.

When working at events, you will also have overall responsibility for the safety and security of the building and everyone in it, and you will be involved in leading a team. As part of the is role, you will be supported to gain qualifications in food hygiene, allergen awareness, first aid, and alcohol licensing, leading to a personal licence certification.

This role can be physically and mentally challenging at times, but also incredibly rewarding. It will include late nights and occasional lone working. Our busiest period is between May – September, when we have events almost every weekend, and we are quieter in December and January.

You do not need prior experience in events to apply for this role. We are interested in speaking to candidates who have experience in hospitality or customer service, and someone who is confident, adaptable, proactive and good at problem\-solving.
