The Last Mile is a specialist provider of traffic, transport and pedestrian management services to events and venues.

Operations Manager

\- Overseeing our operations at events, ensuring that our plans are delivered to a high standard and our workforce are properly briefed and looked after

\- Working as a Manager, Supervisor or Operative at events as required

\- Client and contact management, including quote preparation

\- Preparing Traffic Plans, including CAD drawings

\- Preparing operational plans and operational briefing documents

\- Conducting risk assessments and preparing method statements

\- Liaising with internal and external stakeholders

\- Setting up event sites and car parks, including installing signage, cones and barriers

\- Removing and transporting equipment, including driving company vehicles

£30,000 \- £35,000 per annum depending on experience

Place of Work

The role will predominantly be based on\-site at various event locations within Greater

London. There will be some travel required to events outside of London. Attendance at

the company office located in Highbury (N5\) will be required on designated office days.

Working Days

There is not a fixed schedule and therefore it is a requirement that the candidate is flexible to work as required operationally. The role will receive a minimum of 2 days off per week. During quiet periods, the role will be office based, Monday\-Friday.

Working Hours

Working hours will vary depending upon the requirements of each event. The working pattern will regularly involve weekends, evenings and shifts ranging from 12\-16 hours.

Travel

Candidates must be able to travel to and from event sites within Greater London, and the company office located in Highbury (N5\). Parking at the office is not provided.

Travel and Accommodation

Travel and accommodation will be provided for jobs located outside of London only.

Candidate Requirements

Candidates must:

\- Be passionate about events and have experience in event management and working with crowds

\- Have experience managing teams of casual staff

\- Have an interest in event traffic, transport and pedestrian management

\- Be over the age of 25, with a valid UK driving licence and no more than 3 penalty points

\- Be able to drive a company van, and keep the van overnight between assignments

\- Be able to reliably commute to event sites located within Greater London

\- Be willing to work weekends and long hours

\- Have an understanding of health and safety procedures. A safety qualification is preferable but not essential

\- Be a strong communicator, and proficient in the use of MS Office and Google Docs

Pay: £30,000\.00\-£35,000\.00 per year

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • London N5: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
