A multi-site education organisation is seeking an organised and proactive Estates Manager to help maintain safe, compliant and well-run school environments.

Working with the senior estates and health and safety lead, you’ll support facilities and compliance services across several school sites. You’ll coordinate maintenance and contractors, assist with projects and help improve how estates services are delivered.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinating planned and reactive maintenance across multiple sites.

  • Organising contractors and specialist suppliers, and monitoring the quality and timeliness of their work.

  • Supporting building and refurbishment projects, tracking progress and helping ensure work meets required standards.

  • Assisting with purchasing, purchase orders, budgets and financial records.

  • Monitoring service agreements, contractor performance and key performance measures.

  • Working with school leaders and site teams to keep buildings safe, compliant and in good condition.

  • Supporting health and safety, statutory checks and safeguarding requirements.

  • Carrying out site inspections and audits, recording findings and following up on actions.

  • Helping maintain the organisation’s facilities management system.

  • Supporting shared services such as cleaning, catering, lettings and site facilities.

You’ll bring experience in estates, facilities management, property maintenance or a related area. You’ll understand building maintenance, contractor coordination and compliance, and have experience supporting projects or managing several workstreams at once.

You’ll also have:

  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise competing demands.

  • Clear communication skills and confidence working with people across different sites.

  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and database systems.

  • Experience with budgets, purchase orders or financial monitoring.

  • A practical, solution-focused approach and an interest in improving services.

  • The ability to work collaboratively with a range of colleagues and suppliers.
