Environmental Permitting and Environmental Compliance Consultant
We are an established Environment and Planning Consultancy that has built up a track record of success, notably in the waste/recycling and renewable energy sectors.
We are seeking an Environmental Permitting and Environmental Compliance Consultant to join our team on a full\-time or part\-time basis. The ideal candidate will have experience in the preparation and submission of Bespoke Environmental Permits, alongside a solid understanding of practical site operations and environmental compliance. They will also demonstrate the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients, regulators and other stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
- Researching site characteristics and environmental constraints.
- Preparing, submitting and managing bespoke and standard rules environmental permit applications.
- Preparing and updating Environmental Management Systems (EMS), including Fire Mitigation and Prevention Plans, Dust Management Plans etc.
- Managing and coordinating with suppliers to ensure the timely delivery and accuracy of studies and assessments .
- Keeping up to date on regulatory requirements, providing regular updates to colleagues, clients and other stakeholders to keep them informed of changes that may affect their operations.
- Undertaking site audits to verify permit compliance.
- Support during/following visits from Environmental Regulators (NRW and the EA).
The primary responsibility of this role will be the preparation and management of bespoke and standard rules environmental applications. Experience in preparing bespoke environmental permit applications is particularly important. Applicants with less than 3 years specific experience in this area are unlikely to be successful.
Location
This role is office\-based at our Blackwood site, with regular travel within Wales and to a lesser extent, the rest of the UK. The role operates within a small, closely\-working team of specialists that share knowledge, experience, and best practice.
Occasional hybrid working may be accommodated (discussions at interview stage welcome).
Hours
- Full\-time (37\.5 hours per week) or part\-time.
- Competitive salary based on qualifications and experience. £32,500\.00 \- £40,000\.00 (pro\-rata).

- 22 days p.a. annual leave (increasing to 25 days after 3 years) plus bank holidays (pro\-rata).
