We are seeking to appoint a passionate, creative and dedicated English Teacher to join our specialist educational provision in Christchurch.

This is an exciting opportunity to work within a supportive and nurturing environment, teaching and inspiring young people who may require additional support to achieve their potential both academically and personally. The successful candidate will be committed to delivering engaging and inclusive English lessons that help pupils build confidence, communication skills and a love of learning.

You will join a committed and collaborative staff team that places relationships, wellbeing and individual progress at the centre of everything we do.

The Role As an English Teacher, you will be responsible for planning and delivering high-quality lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, adapting learning to meet the diverse needs of pupils. You will play a key role in supporting students to develop literacy skills, self-confidence and positive learning behaviours.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Planning and delivering engaging and differentiated English lessons

  • Supporting pupils to achieve academic and personal progress

  • Assessing, monitoring and reporting on pupil attainment and development

  • Creating a safe, positive and inclusive learning environment

  • Supporting pupils with additional educational, social and emotional needs

  • Working collaboratively with teaching assistants, pastoral teams and senior leaders

  • Maintaining positive relationships with parents, carers and external agencies

  • Contributing to curriculum development and wider school initiatives

  • Promoting safeguarding, wellbeing and positive behaviour throughout the school

We Are Looking For Someone Who: • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Has experience teaching English across secondary age ranges

  • Has experience teaching young people with SEMH and associated challenges

  • Is passionate about inclusive and relational practice

  • Has strong classroom management and communication skills

  • Can inspire and motivate pupils with a range of learning needs

  • Is resilient, adaptable and committed to making a positive difference

  • Works effectively as part of a team and contributes to the wider school community

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
