This specialist setting supports pupils who present with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), and associated barriers to learning. The school provides a personalised approach to education, helping pupils rebuild confidence, develop resilience, and achieve meaningful academic progress.

The Role

As an English Teacher, you will deliver engaging and differentiated English lessons, helping pupils develop both their academic abilities and confidence in learning.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Teaching English Language and Literature up to GCSE level.

  • Planning and delivering creative, engaging lessons tailored to individual needs.

  • Supporting pupils with SEMH and additional learning needs through a trauma-informed approach.

  • Managing behaviour positively and consistently to create a safe learning environment.

  • Working collaboratively with Teaching Assistants, therapeutic staff, and senior leaders.

  • Monitoring progress and adapting teaching strategies to maximise pupil outcomes.

  • Building positive relationships that enable pupils to re-engage with education.
