Solar Gates UK Ltd, a leading UK innovator in solar‑powered safety, security and access\-control products, is looking for an experienced Operations Manager to lead our manufacturing and field service operations as we continue to grow.

Working from our head office in Maidstone, you’ll take ownership of the day‑to‑day running of our production facility, scheduling and supporting our field service engineers, and ensuring exceptional service delivery to customers across the construction and infrastructure sectors.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Overseeing daily production, ensuring efficient workflow, quality output, and safe operations


• Managing and supporting field service activity (installations, servicing, and repairs)


• Leading and developing production and service teams


• Working closely with Engineering, Sales, and Customer Support to keep jobs moving


• Lead the design and development of new products from concept through to production.


• Support the transition of products from R\&D to full\-scale manufacturing, to include development of internal SoPs and customer\-facing resources.


• Driving continuous improvement across manufacturing, stock control, and service processes


• Monitoring KPIs, managing operational performance, and reporting to senior leadership


• Ensuring compliance with HSE standards and promoting a strong safety culture

• Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience, in Mechanical, Electrical, or Manufacturing Engineering (or related field).


• Technical excellence and understanding, ideally within an access control or CCTV background


• Experience in manufacturing operations, ideally within construction‑related or technical products


• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop teams


• Hands‑on experience in service management or field engineering coordination


• A process‑driven mindset with a passion for improving workflows

• Solid understanding of HSE regulations


• Confident communicator who can work cross‑functionally and manage multiple priorities

• £55k salary (flexible depending on experience and market benchmarks)
