We are looking for an experienced SCADA Engineering Manager to join our Telent Rail Division.The successful candidate will be an experienced people leader with a strong background in managing engineering teams within a SCADA, control systems, rail, or critical infrastructure environment. You will be comfortable leading multidisciplinary teams, driving performance, and fostering a collaborative culture whilst delivering complex projects and operational excellence. You will be happy to spend a minimum of 3 days a week in our Warwick office.

What you’ll do:

• Lead, manage and develop a team of approximately 13 SCADA professionals across Configuration, Application Support (Emulator and Simulator), Deployment and Installation functions, with the opportunity to grow the team further.


• Manage relationships with third\-party suppliers, ensuring service delivery, quality and performance expectations are met.


• Oversee the successful delivery of SCADA Rail projects from conception through to implementation and support.


• Provide technical leadership and strategic direction across the SCADA function, ensuring best practice and continuous improvement.


• Translate technical issues and risks into clear business\-focused communication for operational teams, customers and senior stakeholders.


• Present project progress, resource requirements and business cases to internal and external stakeholders.


• Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within scope and to the highest quality standards.


• Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability and professional development across the team.

The successful candidate will have previous people management skills and be used to managing teams of between 10 to 20 employees.

Key Requirements:

• Proven experience managing and developing engineering teams of 10–20 employees within a technical environment.


• Ability to motivate, inspire and guide engineers through complex and challenging projects.


• Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across customers, suppliers, operational teams and senior leadership.


• Experience coaching, mentoring and developing engineers at varying levels of experience.


• Ability to effectively delegate work, balancing business priorities with individual strengths and development opportunities.


• Demonstrable experience managing performance, setting objectives and supporting career progression.


• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for non\-technical audiences.


• Proven ability to lead teams through change, driving continuous improvement and operational excellence.


• Strong problem\-solving and decision\-making skills, particularly within safety\-critical or operational environments.


• Commitment to fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, safety and inclusion.
