Accountabilities:

  • Lead the engineering team responsible for merchant-facing platform experiences, ensuring successful delivery of projects with high standards of quality, reliability, and execution speed.

  • Coach, mentor, and develop engineers through performance management, career growth planning, and continuous feedback.

  • Participate in architectural discussions and technical reviews, helping teams make sound decisions around scalability, latency, reliability, and data integrity.

  • Partner closely with Product leadership to define roadmaps, prioritize initiatives, identify risks, and balance ambitious goals with realistic execution plans.

  • Drive operational excellence through monitoring, incident management, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement practices.

  • Oversee the evolution of AI-powered merchant experiences while maintaining the stability and usability of existing platform capabilities.

  • Recruit, hire, and retain top engineering talent as the organization continues to scale.

  • Foster a collaborative, accountable, and high-performance engineering culture within a remote-first environment.

Requirements


  • Proven experience managing software engineering teams with direct responsibility for delivery, performance, and employee development.

  • Strong technical background with the ability to evaluate system designs, identify architectural trade-offs, and guide engineering decisions.

  • Experience building and operating large-scale backend, infrastructure, or platform systems where reliability and correctness are critical.

  • Ability to lead effectively in environments with limited process, high autonomy, and evolving priorities.

  • Strong judgment regarding technical governance, design reviews, and escalation of complex engineering challenges.

  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

  • Experience hiring and building high-performing engineering teams.

  • Ability to balance strategic leadership responsibilities with technical involvement and operational ownership.

  • Experience within payments, fintech, infrastructure platforms, or AI-powered products is advantageous but not required.
