Foodpro is based in Wigan town centre and manufactures frozen ready meals for some of the UK's leading retailers.

We are looking for an Engineering Assistant to join our Engineering team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys practical, hands\-on work and wants to develop their skills in a busy food manufacturing environment.

Working alongside our Engineers, you will help maintain workshop equipment, repair machine components and carry out routine safety checks across the site. Full training will be provided.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out basic repairs and maintenance on workshop equipment and tools.

  • Repair, dismantle and reassemble machine components.

  • Support Engineers with workshop activities and maintenance tasks.

  • Carry out daily site safety inspections and report any issues identified.

  • Read and follow technical manuals and engineering instructions.

  • Keep the workshop clean, organised and safe at all times.

  • Use tools and equipment safely and in accordance with company procedures.

About You

You will be practical, reliable and keen to learn. You should enjoy hands\-on work, be able to follow instructions and work well as part of a team. Experience using hand tools or carrying out basic mechanical repairs would be an advantage but is not essential.

Pay: From £28,700\.00 per year
