Employment Solicitor (Locum)

Contract Type: Temporary/Locum

Salary: £50 to £75ph

• Join a highly regarded multi office commercial law firm in the Thames Valley, on a Locum basis.


• Requirement is for an experienced Employment Solicitor/Lawyer to join the team to cover a recruitment gap.


• Handling an Employment Law caseload of non-contentious and contentious matters.


• Position is to start 15th June 2026 for 2 months to cover an interim period of absence.


• Full time hours preferable but 4 days could be considered.


• On site attendance in one of the firms offices is essential for a couple of days per week, but the role can otherwise be carried out on a hybrid remote basis from home.

Our client, an established multi-office commercial law firm, is looking for an experienced Employment Locum Solicitor/Lawyer to assist their team with an extended holiday absence. Hybrid/remote and flexible working feasible and good scope to take on quality work at a good level.

The work will include Employment Law contract drafting, resolving employer/employee disputes, and general employment-related advisory work, as well as a working knowledge of the Employment Tribunal system.

Responsibilities

• Manage a diverse caseload.


• Work autonomously.


• Provide excellent legal advice to clients.


• Support the employment law team effectively, including supervisory and mentoring responsibilities, if possible.


• Handle matters from instruction to completion.

• 8+ years' experience in Employment law, with experience in both contentious & non contentious matters.


• Qualified Solicitor, Legal Executive, or similar.


• Proven ability to work on a standalone basis.


• Strong communication and client care skills.
