Employer Engagement & Business Development Consultant (Freelance – Apprenticeships)
About the Role
We are seeking experienced Employer Engagement \& Business Development Consultants to expand our apprenticeship provision by introducing new employers and generating apprenticeship opportunities.
This role is ideal for individuals with a strong background in employer engagement, business development, recruitment, apprenticeships, training, or workforce development, and who have an established network of employer contacts.
You will be responsible for identifying, approaching, and engaging employers through the most effective communication channels, including telephone outreach, email campaigns, networking events, referrals, social media, and face\-to\-face meetings. Your objective will be to secure employer participation in apprenticeship programmes and support the creation of apprenticeship vacancies that lead to successful learner enrolments.
You will earn £400 commission for every apprentice successfully enrolled through an employer that you introduce.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and engage new employers interested in recruiting apprentices.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with employers across a range of sectors.
- Utilise effective employer engagement methods, including telephone, email, LinkedIn, networking events, referrals, and direct business development activities.
- Promote the benefits of apprenticeship programmes to employers.
- Generate apprenticeship vacancies and employment opportunities for prospective apprentices.
- Work collaboratively with the apprenticeship recruitment and delivery teams to facilitate successful enrolments.
- Maintain accurate records of employer engagement activity and outcomes.
- Represent the organisation professionally and positively at all times.
Essential
- Proven experience in employer engagement, business development, recruitment, apprenticeship sales, training provision, or a similar role.
- Demonstrable track record of successfully introducing and securing new employer partnerships.
- Strong knowledge of apprenticeship programmes and employer recruitment needs.
- Experience of developing apprenticeship vacancies and creating employment opportunities for learners.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, networking, and relationship\-building skills.
- Ability to identify and engage employers through a variety of outreach methods and communication channels.
- Self\-motivated and able to work independently to achieve targets.
- Evidence of at least three successful freelance, consultancy, recruitment, or business development contracts where comparable outcomes were delivered.
- Existing network of employer contacts across London and surrounding areas.
- Experience working with training providers, colleges, apprenticeship providers, or employability programmes.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
- £400 commission per apprentice successfully enrolled through employers you introduce.
- The more successful enrolments you generate, the greater your earning potential.
- Introduce employers generating an average of 12 apprentice enrolments per month and earn approximately £57,600 per year.
