Our reputation for excellence and commitment to quality has driven significant growth, and we are now seeking a Project Engineer with Electrical experience to join our dynamic team.

ROLE OVERVIEW

The Project Engineer (Electrical) will contribute to the design and delivery of electrical and control systems across water and wastewater projects. The role combines electrical design, control system definition and project coordination, client specifications and Uisce Eireann standards. While proficiency in electrical CAD and schematic development is desirable, the position offers exposure to a wide range of engineering activities including LV distribution and panel design, motor control, SCADA and PLC integration, and site commissioning.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop and interpret single line diagrams, schematics, panel general arrangements, cable schedules and termination schedules.

Support LV distribution and MCC design, including panel layouts, cable routing, containment and equipment positioning.

Carry out and check design calculations \- cable sizing, volt drop, discrimination and protection settings, short\-circuit and earthing.

Assist in electrical equipment selection and specification (switchgear, MCCs, VSDs, soft starters, small power and lighting, and ATEX\-rated equipment where applicable).

Contribute to design reviews, risk assessments, hazardous area assessment and compliance checks.

Participate in project scheduling, resource planning and cost estimation.

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate electrical and control systems with mechanical and process design.

Provide technical input during installation, inspection and testing, commissioning and troubleshooting.

Prepare detailed documentation for internal and client approval \- technical submittals, certification and test records, O\&M manuals and as\-built information.

SKILLS \& COMPETENCIES REQUIRED

Proficiency in CAD tools (AutoCAD; AutoCAD Electrical or EPLAN advantageous).

Strong understanding of LV power distribution, motor control, protection and earthing principles.

Working knowledge of ETCI / IS 10101 and relevant standards (EN 60204, EN 61439\).

Basic knowledge of project management methodologies.

Analytical mindset with problem\-solving capability.

Effective communication and teamwork skills.

Competent in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

DESIRABLE COMPETENCIES

Familiarity with process instrumentation (flow, level, pressure) and how it is specified, wired and terminated.

Understanding of control philosophies and PLC / SCADA architecture.

Experience of panel build, factory acceptance testing or site commissioning.

Awareness of functional safety principles (IEC 61508 / 61511\).

QUALIFICATIONS \& EXPERIENCE

Degree in Electrical or Electrical \& Electronic Engineering (or equivalent).

2\-4 years' experience in electrical design and delivery.

Exposure to water/wastewater, industrial or process sectors is an advantage.

Full driving licence preferred.

SALARY \& BENEFITS

Salary

€45,000 \- €55,000 per annum (DOE)
