Join Our Engineering Team
Board24 is seeking a skilled and motivated Electrical Engineer / Technician to join our engineering team at our Preston site. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced maintenance professional who is passionate about maintaining high\-performance manufacturing equipment, reducing downtime, and supporting operational excellence within a fast\-paced production environment.
Working as part of a dedicated engineering team, you will play a key role in ensuring that our machinery, facilities, and production equipment operate safely, efficiently, and reliably.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain all site equipment to the highest standards of safety, reliability, and performance.
- Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and minimise production downtime.
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance activities.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults.
- Support engineering projects and on\-site installations.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the site.
- Maintain effective communication with colleagues, contractors, and management.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental requirements.
- Assist in identifying training and development needs within the engineering function.
We are looking for a time\-served engineer with a proactive approach to maintenance and problem solving.
Essential Requirements
- Apprenticeship\-trained engineer or equivalent experience.
- NVQ Level 3, ONC, HNC or equivalent engineering qualification.
- Experience working within a manufacturing or FMCG environment.
- Strong fault\-finding and diagnostic skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Minimum 5 years' electrical maintenance experience.
- Experience fault\-finding on single\-phase and three\-phase control circuits.
- Experience working with industrial control systems.
- 17th or 18th Edition qualification.
- PLC experience would be advantageous.
