Electrical Engineer - Paris

MED Grid Solutions is the department accountable for value engineering, contractual risk management, execution \& product management on grid connection \& plant control solutions in Vestas power plants along the full project value chain (Development, Sales, Construction and Service stages) in Mediterranean Region, including South European, African, Middle Eastern countries.

Responsibilities

• Monitoring and interpreting grid connection codes, plus maintaining proactive communication with Transmission and Distribution System Operators in French\-speaking countries, especially France


• Input Grid related market requirements to Vestas R\&D ensuring future compliance and competitiveness of Plant offerings


• Provide technical support to Sales Dept. during contract negotiation and bid definition in relation to electrical and grid requirements in order to comply with the applicable standards and technical specifications of the customer


• Participation in team selling approach and building value in each individual project and different customer profiles


• Technical review of the customers' tender documentation and related risk mitigation on project specific basis

• Contractual Annex preparation


• Provide technical support for project execution and commissioning related to electrical and grid requirements specific to the project, as well as the design, implementation, and testing of wind power plant control solutions


• Provide technical support to customers, contractors, grid operators \& utilities, in relation to wind power technology performance and capabilities to ensure their integration into plant design and system interconnection.

• M.Sc. or B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering/Power Systems


• 2\+ years of relevant work experience on grid connection of wind power plants from Wind Industry or from System Operators (like RTE and ENEDIS)


• Knowledge about wind power technology (electrical design and control of WTGs and PPC)


• Knowledge about RTE \& ENEDIS grid connection code requirements


• Knowledge about HV, MV equipment and Substation design


• Knowledge about power system stability, control and analysis


• Knowledge about electrical simulation SW like Power Factory


• Knowledge about electrical simulation software like PSCAD, or open modeling libraries and tools


• Knowledge about Energy Market in France


• French \& English language, both written and spoken.

• Ability to work with no supervision with an international team and to establish good team working relations is essential


• Team spirit


• Ability to reallocate and adjust priorities in a changing environment


• Effective communication and presentation skills


• Confidence talking with and presenting to external stakeholders (customers, grid operators, conferences)


• Solid technical skills with emphasis in problem solving


• Ability to summarize technical topics for non\-technical stakeholders


• Creative solution finding and high degree of motivation to satisfy customer needs


• Solid collaboration skills


• Highly structured and well organized


• Good travel disposition (about 15% of time) in support of customer needs and overall business objectives in MED area
