Electrical Engineer – Off-Grid Power Systems & Energy Solutions
About the Role:
DyMac Global is seeking an experienced and commercially minded Electrical Engineer to support the design, deployment, operation, on\-site commissioning and optimization of off\-grid and hybrid energy systems ( BESS ).
The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), solar photovoltaic (PV) systems, diesel generators, and integrated microgrid solutions.
This role combines technical engineering expertise with operational management and commercial awareness to ensure reliable, efficient, and cost\-effective energy solutions for clients across multiple sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical \& Engineering
Design review, and optimize off\-grid and hybrid power systems incorporating:
Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)
Solar PV generation
Diesel generators
Hybrid microgrid controls and energy management systems such as Victron and Deepsea controls
Perform load tests, and system sizing calculations.
Be capable of reading single\-line diagrams, electrical schematics, and technical specifications.
Evaluate system performance and identify opportunities for efficiency improvements and fuel reduction.
Support commissioning, testing, troubleshooting, and performance verification of systems.
Provide technical support to field operations and maintenance requirements .
Assist in daily warehouse
When required support remote monitoring and data analysis of energy systems.
Participate in incident investigations and root cause analysis.
Assist in developing operational procedures and safety documentation.
Support tender preparation, technical proposals, and client presentations.
Engage with suppliers, manufacturers, contractors, and customers.
Identify opportunities for energy savings, carbon reduction, and revenue optimization.
Support contract reviews and commercial negotiations from a technical perspective.
Required initiatives Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
Minimum 3 years' experience in power generation, renewable energy, microgrids, or energy storage systems.
Knowledge of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), Solar PV systems, Diesel generator technologies, Power distribution and protection systems, Energy management and control systems.
Experience with off\-grid, remote\-site, or hybrid power projects.
Understanding of power quality, load management, and energy optimization.
Knowledge of electrical standards including Irish regulations.
Full driving licence and willingness to travel.
Desirable Qualifications:
Experience with microgrid control platforms and SCADA systems.
Knowledge of off grid connection requirements and renewable energy regulations.
Project management certification.
