As our newly appointed Electrical Design Engineer you will take engineering requirements from customers and design bespoke test solutions that are able to be manufactured within time and cost constraints. This will involve the use of both commercial off\-the\-shelf components as well as custom designed interfaces. The role will involve the creation of electronic and electrical schematics, layouts, PCB layouts, general assemblies and fault finding to allow the manufacturing team to bring to life your designs.
Role responsibilities:
- You will be responsible for designing and maintaining electrical assemblies in Eplan.
- You will be required to create dedicated harness drawings, which we have the capability to manufacture in\-house.
- Produce \& maintain accurate electrical drawing packages (including schematics, Bill of Materials and wiring schedules).
- Due to the nature of our products and customer site locations, you may occasionally be required to travel.
- Degree level qualification in electronic or electrical engineering – Essential.
- 5 or more years’ experience creating electrical schematics, preferably in Eplan.
- Experience designing harnessing.
- Experience of System Test and Fault Finding.
- Experience designing for UKCA and CE compliance.
- PCB Schematic Capture and Layout in Altium Designer – Desirable.
- Experience of PCB digital and analogue circuit design – Desirable.
- Certifications using relevant software tools Eplan, harnessing, Altium etc.\- Desirable.
- Ability to effectively collaborate and contribute within a multi\-disciplined team.
- Effective communicator.
- Analytical and problem\-solving abilities.
- The ability to work on own initiative when required and contribute as a team player.
- Possess all requirements for successfully meeting formal Security Check (SC) criteria.
- Salary up to £50,000 DOE.
- 22 days holiday (including 3 days factory closure between Christmas and New Year).
