Electrical / Control Systems Engineer
BMM Weston Ltd is a UK\-based manufacturer of specialist equipment for the medical and infection control sector, including autoclaves, washer/disinfectors, and boilers used globally.
We are looking for a Electrical / Control Systems Engineer to join our engineering team. This role would suit someone recently qualified or looking to develop experience within electrical engineering, control systems, and automation.
The successful candidate will work closely with a senior engineer, supporting the design, development, and documentation of electrical control systems.
Role Overview
You will support the electrical engineering function with the design of electrical schematics, control panel layouts, and technical documentation. You will also gain exposure to PLC systems, industrial controls, and electrical fault finding as part of your development.
The role is mainly office\-based design work, but will also include hands\-on learning with electrical control panels, wiring, testing, and fault finding. Strong technical support and training will be provided throughout.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the creation of electrical schematics and control system drawings
- Assist with electrical cabinet layouts using SOLIDWORKS Electrical / CAD tools
- Support production and testing teams during build and commissioning
- Help produce and maintain technical documentation
- Assist with electrical fault finding and troubleshooting
- Work alongside engineers to support control system design and development
- Follow engineering standards, procedures, and project documentation
- Electrical engineering qualification (HNC/HND/Degree) or recently qualified
- Basic understanding of electrical control systems (24V DC preferred)
- Interest in PLC systems and industrial automation
- Ability to read electrical drawings (or willingness to learn)
- Good IT skills (Microsoft Office etc.)
- Strong willingness to learn and develop new skills
- Good communication skills and ability to work within a team
- Understanding of PLC hardware or basic programming
- Knowledge of electrical panel wiring
- Familiarity with SOLIDWORKS Electrical or CAD software
- Basic understanding of sensors and motor control
- Hardworking and reliable

- Able to follow instructions and documentation accurately
- 37 hours per week
- Monday – Thursday: 08:30 to 17:00
- Friday: 08:30 to 16:30
