Environmental, Health and Safety Lead
Reporting to: Strategic Account Director
We’re looking for an experienced and driven Health \& Safety Lead to join our team, supporting a single, high\-profile strategic client in Co. Kildare. This is a senior, client\-facing leadership role, where you’ll play a key part in driving a strong safety culture, ensuring regulatory compliance, and leading safety excellence on site.
About the Role
As the site\-based H\&S Lead, you will partner with senior stakeholders and lead a dedicated safety team, ensuring best\-in\-class health, safety, and environmental practices are embedded across all operations.
Key Responsibilities
Safety Strategy \& Compliance
- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive H\&S policies and procedures
- Ensure full compliance with Irish \& European regulations and client requirements
- Monitor and update safety systems in line with legislative changes
- Conduct regular audits, inspections, and safety reviews
- Analyse incident data, identify trends, and implement improvement plans
- Establish and monitor KPIs to track and improve safety performance
- Lead accident and incident investigations
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting to internal systems and client portals
- Drive corrective and preventative actions
- Deliver training, toolbox talks, and awareness programmes
- Promote a proactive, positive safety culture across site
- Develop and maintain a site\-based safety training schedule
- Act as a key point of contact for client safety representatives
- Collaborate with internal teams (Operations, Engineering, Commercial)
- Represent the company in safety meetings and forums
- Manage and develop a site\-based H\&S team
- Coach and support managers in adopting a proactive approach to safety
- Drive continuous improvement and team capability
- Degree (or equivalent) in Health \& Safety
- Full, clean driving licence
- Full right to work in Ireland
- Safe Pass, PSDP, PSCS
- Manual Handling Instructor / Train the Trainer
- VDU / Ergonomic Assessor
- Auditor certification
- IOSH Chartered Member (or working towards)
