EHC Plan Coordinator
We’re working with a Local Authority based in Yorkshire who are on the lookout for a proactive Education Health and Care Plan Coordinator to join their team! The purpose of this role will be to provide short term cover of existing caseloads, supporting the Local Authority with statutory assessments and reviews processes.
This role is offered on a hybrid basis, with two days a week being in the office (Monday and Thursday).
The initial contract length is 1 month, but there is a very strong likelihood of extension.
In this role, you will:
- Amend EHCPs in line with review outcomes and issue revised drafts based on review findings and issue an amended draft to parents/carers within the specified timescale
- Provide statutory guidance and advice relating to the SEND code of practice and related legislation
- Implement, maintain, and review all statutory procedures as set out in Code of Practice and Regulations
- Work collaboratively with parents/carers, children, and young people to ensure that their views and wishes are integral to the assessment, planning, and review process
- Produce and prepare casework for statutory panels, tribunals, and appeals as per legal requirements
- Prepare accurate, high quality reports and plans which are statutorily compliant
- Provide a thorough and sensitive service to parents, carers, children, and young people to ensure that their experience of the Education, Health and Care Plan process is positive and professional including at times when the outcome is at odds with their own hopes and wishes
- Hold responsibility for own caseload, while escalating complex cases to the relevant person.
- Previous experience within a local authority SEND setting is essential
- Proven experience processing EHCP assessments and annual reviews
