About the Role
We are recruiting an experienced Educational Psychologist for a 9\+ month assignment based in Westgate Street. This role focuses on delivering high\-quality psychological services to children and young people, supporting inclusion, wellbeing, and improved educational outcomes across education and social care settings.
You will play a key role in statutory processes, multi\-agency working, and early intervention strategies, ensuring children and young people receive appropriate and timely support.
What You'll Be Doing
- Providing psychological assessments for children and young people
- Supporting statutory assessments, including Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs)
- Advising schools, settings, and professionals on learning, behaviour, and development needs
- Contributing to multi\-agency meetings and case discussions
- Supporting early intervention and inclusion strategies
- Producing clear, professional written reports within required deadlines
- Working collaboratively with education and social care partners
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Educational Psychologist who is confident working within a local authority environment and committed to improving outcomes for children and young people.
Essential Requirements:
- Qualified Educational Psychologist
- HCPC registration (or eligibility to register)
- Proven experience working with children and young people
- Strong knowledge of SEN and statutory assessment processes
- Eligibility to work in the UK
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to undergo checks, including Children's and Adults Barred Lists)
- Ability to produce high\-quality written reports
- Strong communication and consultation skills
- Ability to work effectively within a local authority setting
- Previous experience within a Local Authority Educational Psychology Service
- Experience working across multi\-agency teams
- Familiarity with Gloucestershire County Council processes
- Experience supporting complex or high\-need cases
