Education Recruitment Consultant

Job role;

• Responsible for managing the end-to-end recruitment process, from identifying and attracting suitable candidates to nurturing client relationships and fulfilling bookings


• Maximise the Divisions revenue and to ensure profitability in a fast paced environment through:


• Business development


• Attracting & selecting candidates, helping them through the compliance process


• Fulfilling client bookings


• Client & candidate support


• Administration


• Marketing


• Achieving targets

Key Responsibilities:

Business Development:

• Identify and develop new business opportunities by researching and approaching potential clients


• Identifying key tenders and contributing towards bids, as required.


• Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with clients to understand their recruitment needs, culture, contractual requirements and future plans.


• Conduct client visits to develop relationships

Candidate Sourcing & Management:

• Attract and source suitable candidates through various channels, including; job boards, social media, professional networks, headhunting and referrals.


• Draft compelling job advertisements and utilize various media to maximize candidate reach.


• Conduct in-depth interviews and screenings to assess candidate skills, experience, motivations, and suitability for roles.


• Maintain an accurate and up-to-date database of candidates and client interactions.

Recruitment Process Management:

• Match suitable candidates to bookings, ensuring a strong fit between candidate aspirations and client requirements.


• Facilitate all bookings, pay and any issues that arise


• Working alongside the Compliance Dept, ensure core compliance criteria is obtained and satisfactory including but not limited to reference checks, Enhanced DBS, TRA checks, RTW etc


• Ensure all bookings are on the system in an accurate and timely manner


• Ensure compliance with relevant employment legislation, KCSIE Safer Recruitment and company policies.

Safeguarding & Complaints

• Receive, assess and prioritise all complaints and safeguarding concerns, ensuring they are dealt with in a prompt and appropriate manner


• Working with Compliance, ensure investigations are conducted, gathering any evidence and maintained detailed records


• Seek guidance and assistance from Compliance, HR or Manager as required

Achieving Targets & Reporting:

• Work towards and consistently exceed individual and team targets for candidate placements, bookings and revenue generation.


• Maintain accurate records of all recruitment activities and provide regular reports on progress.


• Continuously monitor market trends and industry developments to inform recruitment strategies.


• Any other duty or project, as reasonably required by the business

Knowledge, Skills & Qualifications:

• Solid and proven experience as a Recruitment Consultant or in a similar sales/business development role.


• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to build rapport quickly.


• Strong sales, negotiation, and persuasion abilities.


• Highly organized with exceptional time management and multitasking skills, able to manage multiple priorities effectively.


• A goal-oriented approach with a strong drive to achieve and exceed targets.


• Problem-solving aptitude and the ability to adapt to changing situations.


• Resilience and tenacity to overcome challenges and rejections.


• Proficiency in using recruitment software, applicant tracking systems (ATS), and CRM tools.


• Knowledge of the education market


• Good understanding of Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) Statutory Guidance

Desirable Skills (if applicable):

• Understanding of employment law and best practices in recruitment.


• REC Certificate in Recruitment Practice


• Experience with specific sourcing techniques (e.g., Boolean search, passive candidate engagement).
