Editorial and Content Manager
Radar is a full\-service Marketing, PR, Publishing and Events Agency hyper\-focused on modern methods of construction (MMC) and building technology. We operate "under the radar" so our clients and brands take 100% of the spotlight, while we quietly \- and flawlessly \- orchestrate the entire show behind the scenes. We work hard, we don't do corporate egos, and we are deeply obsessed with our niche.
About the Role
As our Editorial \& Content Manager, you are one of Radar’s central editorial engines and story crafter. You will take ownership of an assigned specialist B2B publication while acting as one of our go\-to experts for generating, commissioning, developing, and repurposing authoritative content across our PR, marketing, digital, and event channels.
This isn’t a role for someone who creates surface\-level online copy. We need a candidate with a strong editorial bias \- someone who understands that editing a magazine is an art form, but who can seamlessly pivot from interviewing an industry leader to crafting press releases, LinkedIn campaigns, and technical features. You won't wait for instructions; you will proactively squeeze every drop of value out of our intellectual property \- turning a single conference presentation into magazine features, website articles, social posts, and newsletter highlights.
Key Responsibilities
- Mastering the Editorial Blueprint: Take full editorial ownership of an assigned specialist magazine. Plan themes, write technical features, research industry trends, interview senior leaders, and coordinate contributions from guest writers and industry experts.
- Multi\-Channel Content Creation: Write crisp, compelling content across press releases, case studies, website copy, electronic newsletters, email campaigns, brochures, and LinkedIn/social media channels.
- Sweating the Production Details: Work hand\-in\-hand with our internal design team to guide publications and promotional materials seamlessly from initial concept to final production.
- Industry Engagement \& Story Hunting: Attend industry conferences, exhibitions, roundtables, and factory visits. Turn live discussions, presentations, and emerging sector trends into sharp news stories, interviews, and thought\-leadership pieces.
- PR \& Media Relations: Research trade media forward features, liaise with trade journalists, identify press coverage opportunities for Radar and our clients, and track media impact.
- Content Planning \& Repurposing: Maintain forward\-looking editorial and content calendars, ensuring deadlines are hit across digital and print channels. Maximise the reach of every piece of content by repurposing assets across magazines, web, email, social, podcasts, and events.
- Cross\-Team Collaboration: Work seamlessly across our PR, Publishing, Marketing, Events, Sales, and Design divisions to shape campaign messaging and support complex B2B content needs.
No corporate jargon, no big egos. Just genuine enthusiasm, sharp organisation, and pride in your craft.
- Editorial \& Publishing Bias: Proven experience in journalism, magazine editing, publishing, PR, or technical B2B copywriting. You understand the art of structuring and editing a publication from cover to cover.
- Exceptional Writing \& Proofreading: Brilliant writing skills with the ability to digest complex, technical topics and turn them into engaging narratives.
- Confident Interviewer \& Networker: Comfortable approaching senior industry figures, conducting insightful interviews, and building lasting relationships across trade bodies and sector specialists.
- Digital \& Campaign Savvy: Strong understanding of integrated B2B marketing, PR, email campaigns, and LinkedIn/social channels.
- Sweating the Quiet Details: Exceptional attention to detail, deadline management, and organisational skills. You manage your workload comfortably across multiple platforms and publications.
- On the Road: Willingness to attend industry events, factory tours, and conferences, with occasional overnight stays.
- The Birthday Rule: Your birthday is an extra day of paid leave on us. If it falls on a weekend, enjoy the following Monday off.
- Breakfast Club: Every two weeks the whole team gathers in the kitchen for breakfast on us. Show up hungry!
- Milestone Rewards: We value loyalty. Celebrate your 5\-year anniversary with a voucher of your choice.
- Investors in People Accreditation: We are officially accredited for our commitment to supporting, training, and building brilliant long\-term careers for our team.
