Job Type: Part\-time / Fixed\-term
Pay: €17\.22 per hour
Hours: Minimum 15 hours per week (additional hours available depending on service needs)

Job Description

Daughters of Charity Child \& Family Services are seeking a caring, enthusiastic and dedicated AIM Support Worker to join our Early Childhood Development Services (ECDS) team.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about inclusion and supporting young children to reach their full potential. As an AIM Support Worker, you will play an important role in creating an inclusive, supportive and nurturing early learning environment where every child feels valued and encouraged to participate.

Working as part of the Access and Inclusion Model (AIM), you will support children with additional needs to access and engage fully in the ECCE programme. You will work closely with early years educators, families and other professionals to recognise each child’s strengths, interests and individual needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support children’s participation, wellbeing and development within the early years environment

  • Promote inclusion, independence and positive relationships through play\-based learning

  • Provide child\-centred support to children requiring additional assistance

  • Support communication, emotional regulation and social development

  • Work collaboratively with educators, families and external professionals

  • Assist with observations, planning and individual support strategies

  • Contribute to creating a safe, welcoming and accessible learning environment
Requirements
  • QQI/FETAC Level 5 or Level 6 qualification in Early Childhood Care and Education (or equivalent)

  • Experience working in an Early Learning and Care setting

  • Knowledge of Aistear and Síolta frameworks

  • Understanding of inclusive, child\-centred practice

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills

  • A caring, patient and positive approach when supporting children
Desirable Experience
  • Previous experience working within AIM or additional needs support

  • Experience supporting children with communication needs

  • Experience working alongside multidisciplinary teams
