Abbotsford House, Bearsden is a small award wining family run Nursing Home set in beautiful gardens, established 36 years ago.

We are looking for an experienced, compassionate Senior Care Assistant to join our team.

This is a hands\-on care role, with the main priority being to provide high\-quality, person\-centered care to our residents.

You will work alongside the Care Assistants, leading, supporting and mentoring the team while working closely with the Nurse to support residents' clinical needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, support, supervise and mentor the Care Assistant team.


• Provide hands\-on personal care and support to residents.


• Train, guide and support new and existing staff.


• Maintain accurate care records.


• Monitor residents' health and report any changes to the Nurse.


• Support the Nurse with clinical duties, including wound care and the SSKIN bundle, within your training and competency.


• Administer medication in line with policy and training.


• Support residents with meals, hydration and daily activities.


• Communicate with residents' families and professionals.


• Carry out Key Worker duties and additional responsibilities such as Continence Champion or Moving and Handling Officer.


• We are looking for someone who is caring, organised, confident in leading and mentoring a team, and committed to delivering excellent care.

Requirements

• Experience of working as a Senior Care Assistant in a Care Home


• SVQ 3 in health and social care


• IT skills an advantage
