About the role

DALROD Drainage Solutions is looking for an experienced Drainage Engineer with strong CCTV surveying and CIPP patch repair experience to join our growing North West team.

This is not primarily a civils or groundworks position.

We are specifically looking for an experienced drainage professional who can confidently attend sites and independently undertake CCTV drainage surveys, identify and correctly code defects, assess pipe condition and carry out CIPP patch repairs and other no\-dig remedial works.

You'll be working from a fully equipped DALROD vehicle and attending a wide variety of commercial, industrial and residential sites across the North West.

While CCTV surveying and trenchless repairs will be a major focus of the position, you'll also be part of our wider drainage team and will undertake reactive and planned drainage works where required.

Key responsibilities

As one of our experienced Drainage Engineers, you will:

  • Carry out detailed CCTV drainage surveys on foul and surface water drainage systems

  • Independently operate CCTV drainage survey equipment

  • Accurately identify, classify and code drainage defects

  • Produce clear and professional CCTV survey information and reports

  • Assess pipe and drainage system condition and identify appropriate remedial works

  • Undertake CIPP localised patch lining repairs

  • Carry out pre\- and post\-repair CCTV inspections

  • Undertake other trenchless/no\-dig drainage repairs where appropriate

  • Diagnose recurring drainage problems and identify the underlying cause rather than simply treating the immediate issue

  • Carry out high\-pressure water jetting, blockage clearance and associated drainage works when required

  • Undertake root cutting and specialist cleaning where appropriate

  • Carry out general drainage repairs as part of the wider engineering role

  • Communicate findings clearly to customers and our office/management team

  • Provide sufficient site information to enable remedial works to be accurately quoted

  • Complete site documentation and reports to a high standard

  • Ensure work is carried out safely and in accordance with company procedures and relevant regulations

  • Maintain your vehicle, equipment and materials to a high standard
Essential experience

We are particularly interested in hearing from candidates who can demonstrate hands\-on experience in the following areas:

  • Professional CCTV drainage surveying

  • Identification and coding of drainage defects

  • CCTV survey reporting

  • Drainage fault diagnosis

  • CIPP/localised patch lining repairs

  • High\-pressure water jetting and blockage clearance

  • Working independently on customer sites

  • A minimum of 2 years' relevant drainage industry experience

  • Full UK driving licence with no more than 6 penalty points
Applicants whose experience is predominantly civils, excavation or groundworks without practical CCTV drainage surveying experience are unlikely to be suitable for this particular position.

Qualifications \& additional experience

The following would be highly advantageous:

  • Recognised CCTV drainage surveying/coding qualification

  • OS19X / MSCC5 or equivalent training/experience

  • HPWJ/WJA qualification

  • CIPP patch lining training or certification

  • Confined Space certification

  • CSCS card

  • Root cutting/milling experience

  • No\-dig/trenchless repair experience

  • Excavation and traditional drainage repair experience

  • Vacuum tanker experience
Don't have every qualification listed above? We are still interested in hearing from experienced CCTV/CIPP drainage engineers who can demonstrate strong practical ability and relevant industry experience.

What we're looking for

Technical ability is important, but so is how you work.

You'll need to be someone who:

  • Takes pride in producing accurate, professional work

  • Can investigate a drainage problem and think beyond the obvious solution

  • Is confident working independently and making decisions on site

  • Communicates professionally with commercial and residential customers

  • Looks after vehicles and specialist equipment

  • Works well as part of a wider engineering team

  • Takes Health \& Safety seriously

  • Is reliable, positive and willing to continually develop their skills
What we offer
  • £35,000 \- £50,000 per year depending on experience and capability, including Additional overtime opportunities and Enhanced rates for out\-of\-hours and Bank Holiday working

  • Rotational out\-of\-hours work

  • 29 days' holiday inclusive of Bank Holidays

  • Company pension scheme

  • Fully equipped drainage vehicle

  • Modern specialist CCTV and drainage equipment
