Domiciliary Care Worker

Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to providing exceptional patient care in various settings, including home care environments. This role is vital in supporting individuals with diverse needs, including those requiring dementia care. The Care Worker will be responsible for assisting clients with daily living activities while ensuring their comfort and dignity.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care to clients, including assistance with bathing, dressing, and grooming.


• Support clients with mobility and physical activities, including heavy lifting when necessary.


• Administer medication as prescribed and monitor client health conditions.


• Assist with meal preparation and ensure clients receive proper nutrition.


• Engage clients in social activities to promote mental well\-being and companionship.


• Maintain accurate records of client care and report any changes in health or behaviour to the appropriate personnel.


• Drive clients to appointments or social outings as needed.


• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement individual care plans.


• Good communication skills and a person\-centred approach.


• Complex care experience is desirable but not essential.

Requirements

• Two years previous experience in personal care in domiciliary care, nursing homes, or similar environments is preferred.


• Must be a driver with UK driving license and able to drive a 12 seater. Must have own car and business insurance.


• Knowledge of home care practices and senior care principles is advantageous.


• Experience in childcare or working with individuals with special needs is a plus.


• Ability to perform heavy lifting and assist clients with mobility challenges.


• Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients and their families.


• A compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others.


• Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends is required.
