Domiciliary Care Support Worker
Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Domiciliary Care Support Workers to provide high\-quality care and assistance to individuals in their own homes. This role is ideal for those passionate about helping others, with experience or interest in assisted living, patient care, and senior support. The successful candidate will play a vital part in promoting independence and wellbeing for clients across various care needs, including dementia, Alzheimer's, and hospice care. Applicants should be committed to maintaining dignity, respect, and safety at all times.
This role involves some split shifts mornings and afternoons .
Duties
- Deliver personalised care to clients in their own homes , including assistance with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Support with medication administration following prescribed guidelines
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary requirements
- Assist with mobility and heavy lifting when necessary, ensuring safety protocols are followed
- Provide companionship and emotional support to minimise feelings of loneliness or isolation
- Manage behaviour effectively, especially in clients with dementia or Alzheimer's disease
- Drive clients to appointments or social activities using company transport or personal vehicle (driving licence required)
- Maintain accurate documentation of care provided and report any concerns or changes in client condition
- Uphold health and safety standards, including first aid procedures when required
- Assist with light housekeeping tasks to ensure a clean and safe living environment
- Previous experience in assisted living, home care, nursing home environments or similar settings is highly desirable
- Knowledge of patient care techniques, dementia care, Alzheimer’s support, hospice care and senior support is advantageous
- Experience in caregiving roles involving medication administration, behaviour management, and meal preparation is preferred
- First aid certification is beneficial but not essential; training can be provided for the right candidate
- A valid driving licence is preferred to facilitate client transportation duties
- Experience with childcare or caring for vulnerable adults will be considered an asset
