Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Domiciliary Care Assistant to provide high\-quality support to individuals within their own homes. This role offers an opportunity to make a positive difference in clients' lives by assisting with daily activities and promoting independence. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, be reliable, and have a genuine desire to help others. A valid driving licence is preferred to facilitate travel between clients’ homes. This paid position is suitable for those looking to develop their career within the care sector.

Duties

  • Assist clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming, ensuring dignity and respect at all times

  • Support with daily living activities including meal preparation, medication reminders, and light housekeeping

  • Help clients maintain their independence by encouraging participation in activities and social engagement

  • Follow personalised care plans accurately to meet individual needs and preferences

  • Provide emotional support and companionship, fostering a trusting relationship with clients

  • Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any concerns or changes in clients’ health to relevant professionals

  • Adhere to health and safety guidelines, including infection control procedures and safeguarding policies

  • Utilise IT systems for documentation and communication purposes effectively
Skills
  • Good communication skills in English, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with clients and team members

  • Basic IT literacy for completing documentation and using care management systems

  • Driving licence is advantageous for travelling between client locations efficiently

  • Experience working within a care home or providing home care is desirable but not essential; training will be provided where necessary

  • Ability to follow care plans meticulously while demonstrating flexibility to adapt as needed

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and trust with clients from diverse backgrounds

  • Organised, reliable, and able to work independently or as part of a team

Pay: £12\.22\-£13\.50 per hour
